The Women of @DCComics! DC has been slowly collecting creator portraits of their talent and they’re all really fantastic shots. I just had to spotlight 3 of my favorite kickass ladies: Jill Thompson, Gail Simone, and Amanda Conner. You can check out the entire list here, which DC will be adding to all summer. No word on who the photographer is yet, if you know, please let me know!
@GailSimone….you…I…

Here is a bunch of fake nerds, oh, wait, I meant to say THE MOST AWESOME CHICKS EVER SO AWESOME THEY WILL BURN YOUR DAMN FOOL EYES OUT OF YOUR FACE IF YOU CALL THEM FAKE NERDS.
Ahem.
It might be hard to see, but they are all symbolizing a color of the Lanterns, with the great NerdyBird taking the classic green.
Anyone else imagining NerdyBird is Barbara? Because I still wish Oracle could continue that AU where she was a Green Lantern. Perfection.
Jill is only half a step away from actually BEING Barbara already, I swear.
I adore her like ice cream on a hot day. She’s lovely, kind, funny, smart, and strong as all hell despite people taking vicious shots at her for being all those things at once.
Jill Pantozzi, you are Oracle to me!
My friend, the awesome Dr. Andrea Letamendi, is now officially part of Gotham canon. And I couldn’t be more jealous happy for her.
She’s been assisting Gail Simone with information on trauma psychology and more. You may remember she was the author of The Psychology of the Fake Geek Girl for The Mary Sue as well.

Has @gailsimone seen this yet? It says so much about King Shark.
I woke up this morning to find many messages from readers telling me to check out the Gutters. Today’s comic, written by the always amazing Jill Pantozzi with art by Amy Mebberson, addresses an issue pretty near to my heart. And, of course, the comments have the usual cast of idiots.
So…I wrote this.

I just want to thank everyone for the amazing outpouring of love for the strip. When I was writing it, I was worried it was far too cheesy for what I was trying to go for but it turns out it was just right.
First off, my utmost gratitude to Amy Mebberson for making my vision become a reality. I gave Amy a LOT to work with and she made my dreams come true.
Thanks to Ryan, Jeff, and Rich of the Gutters crew who got this whole thing happening in the first place.
Thanks to my pals Chris, Susana, and Alan who gave me input on the script while I was stressing over it. And thanks to DC Women Kicking Ass for tumblring it. :)
A few things regarding some of the comments I’m seeing:
Lastly, thank you to Gail Simone, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Louise Simonson, Amanda Conner, and Jill Thompson - true powerhouses of the comic industry who inspire me daily. I could not think of a better superhero team to kick ass.
