Warner Bros. is looking for their next cash-cow film franchise? I’ve got the answer - hire J.K. Rowling to write all seven Harry Potter books from the perspective of Neville Longbottom (and then make each one into two movies of course).

Thought of this while looking at my “The Evolution of Neville Longbottom” post from last year.

Mike Maihack was kind enough to indulge me in my want for #DCkittehs. You may remember the amazing #MRVLCATS meme from last year, I highlight many of the greats on Topless Robot. While I own the first true #DCkitteh from the lovely Katie Cook, done as a personal commission, this is the first in what I can only hope takes over Twitter this weekend. Care to join? I was asked to be part of a very cool project, here’s the first look!  lenperalta: This is my pencil and ink sketch of my friend Jill AKA @TheNerdyBird as Barbara Gordon/Oracle.  For those not keeping score, Barbara used to be Batgirl before the Joker (that bastard) shot her and left her wheelchair bound.  Not one to rest on her laurels, Barbara became Oracle.  This character is very special to Jill as she suffers from Muscular Dystrophy, and, like Oracle,  she is in a wheelchair.  I wanted to make this one really special because of what the character means to Jill. So I am riding this drawing pretty closely, to make sure I hit the right notes.  the pencil was pretty awesome.  The ink felt good, but was a tough one to make work, for me personally.  Flat color will be posted in a bit.  The final effects in Photoshop is where this image should really start coming together.  I’ll post that in a bit.  More soon…

If it was so “unrealistic” that Barbara Gordon remain disabled in a fictional universe where people have superpowers, limitless financial resources and are brought back to life on a regular basis, no one in comics would die. Ever. That seems like really boring fiction to me.

I’ve been in a wait and see mode on the Oracle/Batgirl situation for a while now but still seeing people insist she should be cured simply because it’s fiction and anything can happen is bullshit.
