The Doctor Who Cast Arrive In DeLoreans To The Season 7 Premiere
Jill Pantozzi at The Mary Sue has posted a brilliant photo feature covering Saturday’s Doctor Who screening in New York City. (Yes, that is Matt Smith and Karen Gillan arriving in a DeLorean.)
As Jill states:
I had the opportunity of interviewing Doctor Who’s Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and new executive producer Caroline Skinner before watching the epic Season 7 premiere “Asylum of the Daleks” Saturday in New York City. While I’m sworn to secrecy about the episode itself (you’ll be shocked and blown away), I can share with you the fantastic photos I shot during the events. Yes, you heard right - they arrived in DeLoreans…
You can see more photos at The Mary Sue.

I had the privilege of interviewing Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Caroline Skinner yesterday before the New York Doctor Who premiere at the Ziegfeld. Matt was actually the last person I talked to and I realized I hadn’t taken any photos because I was too busy listening to every word they said with baited breathe.
So anyway, Matt was speaking to an adorable young girl who was part of the interviews (if anyone knows who she is let me know, I have a candid photo of the two of them also that she might like) and I took a few with my cell phone. Just as I was about to hit the button, Matt looked directly at me and I got this great picture. Even better because his counterpart is staring over his shoulder in the background.
Thank you to them all, and to BBC America for the opportunity to speak with them again. They really are just as cool and nice as you’d think they are.
Better quality shots of the actors, including their arrival at the event in DeLoreans (!!!!), to come!
HELLO, TRUE BELIEVERS!
STAN LEE, CENTERFOLD (photograph by Eliot R. Brown)
When Stan Lee visited New York in January 1983, the editorial staff was at the peak of its yuk-yuk, hand-buzzer giddiness. They’d been shooting photos of each other in superhero costumes for some of the covers—several staff members appeared on the cover of the last issue of SPIDER-WOMAN—and now they were putting together a comic that consisted wholly of photos of intra-office hijinks. They wanted to include Stan the Man. Lee, the original ringmaster, jumped at the chance to pose for a nude centerfold. Marvel staffers photographed Lee with an oversize comic book covering his private parts; soon after, they received a call from his assistant in L.A. “Stan is wild,” said the assistant. “He should not have been naked for your centerfold. Please. Don’t.” (A Hulk costume was later superimposed over Lee’s body in postproduction.)
In case you were looking for a chicken purse.
Consider me “thanked.” :)

SO UH
I don’t even know how to respond to this because it’s so unexpected and wonderful and I don’t know what my feelings are doing right now.
But my t shirt design was Jill’s pick in the WeLoveFine contest!!!
I CAN’T EVEN BELIEVE THIS, REALLY I CAN’T.
I… have a bit of an embarrassing thing to ask.
I’m Twitter-dumb. How do you send a tweet to someone specific on Twitter? Like so it goes to their inbox or wherever tweets go? I’d really, really like to send her a thank you tweet!! If someone could let me know that’d be really awesome!!
I’m gonna put a cut here because I’m just gonna be spamming gifs and excitement below it.
HOLD THE PHONE. You mean girls read comics back then, too? Mind = blown.
